We had sooo much fun on STEAM day. The day began with two guest speakers-both parents of 3rd graders including Mr. Bauman, Trent's dad. We enjoyed learning about their careers.
The afternoon was spent creating pipelines to transfer water across a forest, building marble races, and creating marble mazes. Students used problem solving, collaboration, engineering, and creativity to create their masterpieces! I was very impressed with their final products and inventiveness.

More Fun with Our Animal Visitors We enjoyed one more week with our animal friends and were sad to see them go on Thursday. I think the turtle, nicknamed Slider and Speedy, was the favorite since we were able to take him for walks during recess. We were surprised that he could walk pretty fast and slide down a rocky hill. This week we observed all the animals closely and recorded our observations in our science notebooks. We also enjoyed reading about these animals throughout the week. Flashlight Read-In and Ms. Stowe as a Guest Reader PSA's using POWTOONS
We are finished up our Public Service Announcements that we made using Powtoons this week, (well except for a few finishing touches). It has been a long process trying to get the words, visuals, images, and effects just right but I am very proud of how hard the kiddos have worked creating their PSA. They are very passionate about spreading the word about habitat loss. Go Wildlife Warriors! I was so busy helping the kiddos that I forgot to take pictures of them working. I'll post the links to their Powtoons soon-you will be impressed for sure! |
