Helping Our Kinder Buddies with Research Everyone enjoyed seeing their kinder buddy again and helping them finish a research project. I was so impressed with how well the 3rd graders provided guidance as our buddies recorded their learning. All the kiddos were so engaged! Feeding Time! Our visiting turtle gobbled up some crickets while we watched. The kiddos were amazed at how quickly the turtle snatched its prey. What Do You Know? This was the question the kiddos answered about various math images related to multiplication. Asking this allows students to think about the math represented in the image without having to solve a problem. We also generated some questions that could be answered using the images. The next day, I gave them the same images, but with problems to solve as part of a quiz. Habitat Loss Gallery We invited some 5th, 4th, and 3nd grade classes to come learn about habitat loss in our PBL gallery. This was the perfect opportunity to share what we learned and to educate others about the problem of habitat loss. I hope we encouraged some of our audience to help make a difference. Enrichment STEM Challenge What do you do with a bunch of sticky notes that don't really stick? Turn it into a challenge! I had a bunch of generic sticky notes that don't work, so I challenged the kiddos to design and build a 3D creation using only sticky notes and glue sticks. Groups collaborated and used the design process as they built their creations. As you can tell from the photos, they used their imagination to construct a roller coaster, camp ground, hospital, tower, airplane, and animal sanctuary, (the picture with the turtle).
